Over 600 of the state’s up and coming netballers will travel to Warrnambool in 2020, to contest Netball Victoria’s State Titles.

Hosted by Warrnambool City Netball Association at The Warrnambool Stadium, with the support of the Warrnambool City Council, the 2020 State Titles will be held on the weekend of 3-4 October.

With the State Titles being one of the key Talent Identification opportunities for Netball Victoria’s state pathway, there will once again be the opportunity for regions to be represented by teams in the 15/U, 15/U Mixed, 17/U and Open divisions, as well as two divisions for players with a disability.

Netball Victoria’s General Manager Netball Development, Angela Banbury, said that the State Titles provides opportunities of development for many connected to Netball Victoria’s programs across the state.

“The State Titles is a great occasion as part of our pathway that brings all 19 of our regions across Victoria together, providing development opportunities for not only the players, but the 170-odd coaches, umpires and other officials who will be in attendance, with the support from Netball Victoria,” said Banbury.

“With over 600 participants representing approximately 60 teams that expected to take part in the event, this will be a fantastic opportunity for Warrnambool City Netball and the City of Warrnambool.

“We are hoping to have all 19 regions represented for the first time in at least 10 years at the 2020 event, which will be a fantastic opportunity for Victoria’s the regional netball community.”

Warrnambool City Council Mayor, Cr Tony Herbert, said he was excited to welcome Netball Victoria’s State Titles to the region.

“We are thrilled to host the Titles, it’s a real privilege,” Cr Herbert said.

“We have a community that values sport highly and participates in sport in great numbers.

“There will be huge interest in the State Titles and we’ll look forward to seeing some of the best emerging netball talent and some outstanding seasoned players as well.”
